Taking Big Steps Toward His Dream – As an Apprentice at a Real Estate Agency
March 20, 2024
Teddie is learning his dream profession while still in high school, spending his school days with real estate agents. – "I’m extremely grateful," he says.
At Yrkesgymnasiet, students spend more than half of their high school time as apprentices at real companies.
Teddie Hedberg is in his second year of the Sales and Service program at Yrkesgymnasiet Väsby. He dreams of becoming a real estate agent, and through the school’s program, he is able to fully pursue that dream. He is completing his apprenticeship (APL) at Notar Real Estate in Sollentuna.
Teddie shadows the agents in the office, learning about the administrative aspects of sales and participating in practical tasks such as property viewings, client meetings, and contract signings.
In short, he gets a full view of everything that happens during an agent’s typical workday.
– “It’s extremely educational, and I’m very grateful to be in such a unique and interesting place,” says Teddie.
Growing as a Real Estate Assistant
Philip Kujanpää, franchisee and real estate agent at Notar, enjoys watching Teddie grow into the role.
– “The best part is seeing how Teddie develops with us,” he says.
As a mentor, Philip expects the apprentice to show interest in the workplace and a genuine desire to learn. This hasn’t been a problem for Teddie, who understands how valuable his time at the firm is.
He’s gaining a deeper understanding of the real estate profession and is getting a true, comprehensive picture of all the aspects involved. It’s a big step closer to his dream.
He also encourages future apprentices to follow their passion:
– “Dare to take risks and apply for unique APL placements.”
