Strengthening His Skills Through Racing

Axel is expanding his advanced car knowledge by spending his school days in a cutting-edge racing lab. "It's really exciting," he says.

At Yrkesgymnasiet, students spend more than half of their time apprenticing at real companies, gaining practical experience.

Axel Matsson is a second-year student in the Vehicle and Transport program at Yrkesgymnasiet Ale.

He is doing his apprenticeship (APL) at Cyan Racing’s state-of-the-art headquarters in Mölndal. Cyan Racing is known for building, preparing, and testing race cars for the WTCC (World Touring Car Championship).

Axel is part of this meticulous process, working alongside the team as they disassemble and prepare cars piece by piece in their clinically clean workshop.

The final step before competition is testing the cars on a track under real-world conditions.

During these tests, the team gathers and analyzes extensive data, which is used to fine-tune and optimize performance.

Every day at Cyan is a thrilling and educational experience for Axel, and it’s no wonder he loves it there.

He’s also eagerly looking forward to April, when the cars will undergo rigorous tests during a “shake down” at Anderstorp Raceway.

— “It’ll be fun to see,” he says.
