Principal Maria reflects on the year – “Proud of our staff and our students”
August 7, 2024
The 2023/2024 academic year at Affärsgymnasiet Uppsala was filled with exciting events, rewarding knowledge development, collaborations, and new encounters. Principal Maria Hallberg shares some of the highlights from the past school year and looks ahead to the upcoming one.
Throughout the year, our students have developed both personally and academically through high-quality teaching, dedicated teachers, and external collaborations. We have visited study trips and hosted lectures in various courses with organizations such as Ericsson, Handels, Clockwork, Fredens hus, RFSU, Ung Företagsamhet (Young Enterprise), Swedbank, the advertising agency Oh My, and Young Economics, to name a few.
We have had many exciting events that have enriched our students’ experiences and knowledge. Through our collaborations with various companies, our students have gained invaluable insights and experiences about the society around us.
I especially want to highlight the kick-off with Ung Företagsamhet at Universitetshuset and the inspirational lecture at Fyrishov for the school’s future third-year students. It was truly inspiring to see our students get motivated at the Ung Företagsamhet-fair, in preparation for the entrepreneurship course and UF business ventures next year. It gave them a unique opportunity to gain insight into running their own business and sparked their entrepreneurial spirit in a fantastic way.
As we approach the fall semester, I and the entire staff are filled with anticipation and enthusiasm for all the opportunities ahead. We are truly looking forward to welcoming our new students and warmly greeting our second- and third-year students back for an inspiring and developmental academic year that will prepare them for further studies, the workforce, and/or entrepreneurship.
A few closing words
We have experienced a period of significant development and progress at the school, with a focus on quality and goal achievement, and I am proud of the work accomplished by our staff and students. As principal, it has been a rewarding experience to witness the school’s growth. I look forward to continuing to support and encourage our school’s commitment to being a place of learning, personal development, and success moving forward.
