May 8, 2024
Nine teachers at Affärsgymnasiet Helsingborg have been nominated for the Teacher Gala (Lärargalan). The fact that it is the students who have recognized their work adds an extra special confirmation. – It means that I’m reaching my students, says teacher Ulrika Troedsson.
Nine teachers at Affärsgymnasiet Helsingborg have been recognized for their outstanding performance in the classroom. They have been nominated by their students for this year’s Teacher Gala, a gesture that not only celebrates their subject knowledge but also their teaching and leadership skills.
– It’s incredibly rewarding! It’s great that students think the teachers are as good as I think they are, says principal Linda Strand.
– Appreciation from the school management and parents is nice, but when I receive praise from my students, that’s when I know I’ve succeeded, says Henrik Gunnarsson, one of the nominated teachers.
Since 2016, the Teacher Gala Foundation has honored teachers. By allowing students to nominate their teachers, the gala focuses on rewarding those who have truly made a difference in the classroom. This year’s event will take place on October 14 at Cirkus in Stockholm.
Two other nominated teachers from the school are Ulrika Troedsson and Robert Lingstedt.
– It’s an honor and I’m incredibly happy. It’s fantastic to know that students think I’m doing something right, says Ulrika.
– I’m thrilled that students appreciate my work so much that they want to nominate me. I love my subject and I think the students can tell, says Robert.
Having nine teachers recognized at a national level is also a gratifying testament to the school’s high standards.
– It’s a privilege to work with our teachers. They make a significant difference in the lives of young people, says principal Linda Strand.
