A Year with 400% for Yrkesgymnasiet Malmö
August 20, 2024
Yrkesgymnasiet Malmö starts the fall semester strengthened by the inspiring results of last school year. The school made progress in several areas and reached 100% in four categories. – "We have received encouraging confirmation that our hard work is paying off. Now we aim even higher," says Principal Nadja Metovski.
There is no other adjective than “successful” to describe Yrkesgymnasiet Malmö’s past school year. The school’s summary shows 100% goal achievement, 100% employability, 100% approval from the Swedish Schools Inspectorate, and 100% satisfaction in the employee survey. The key to this year of “400% success” has largely been systematic quality work.
– “These are gratifying confirmations of our efforts to ensure quality throughout the entire operation,” says Nadja Metovski.
100% Goal Achievement
All third-year students achieved their goals and graduated. This result is far above the Swedish average of 75.9% for vocational high school programs.
100% Employability
The school has 100% APL (workplace-based learning). This means that all students have an internship, which increases their employability.
100% Approval from the Schools Inspectorate
The school was reviewed by the Swedish Schools Inspectorate and received the highest approval in all areas.
100% Satisfaction in the Employee Survey
As an important part of the school’s success, it achieved 100% eNPS (Employee Net Promoter Score) in the employee survey.
This Year’s Progress
Metovski explains that they have made significant progress in three areas: new technology, strengthened industry collaboration, and increased student support.
The staff has implemented digital tools and AI to facilitate teaching and administration. This has led to more interactive learning and improved monitoring of student development.
Collaboration with industry has been strengthened through more guest lecturers and workshops, giving students greater practical experience.
Student support has primarily increased through closer collaboration between the student health team and teachers, enabling better-tailored support based on each student’s needs.
Yrkesgymnasiet Malmö has a long-standing tradition of well-functioning systematic work, but this doesn’t stop management and staff from finding new ways to develop. The successes of the 2023/2024 school year are an inspiring example of the high quality a school can achieve when everyone works towards the same goal.
– “Our fantastic students, our great collaboration with the industry, and our incredible staff are the key,” summarizes Nadja Metovski.
